Amalgamations
Amalgamation has proved to be an effective survival strategy for some clubs unable to trade out of financial difficulty. It most commonly occurs where two clubs merge into one entity. The Clubs retain separate registrations but one Club is wound up and the assets and liabilities assumed by the other.
If an Administrator is appointed to a distressed club, amalgamation may be the best outcome for both creditors and members. Clubs should be aware that it is more cost efficient to amalgamate before an Administrator is involved.
Russell Corporate Advisory provides skilled advice in this area. A properly structured amalgamation can make the process smoother and more cost effective.
